A tiring but fruitful day spent at Red Cross Flag Day 2013 ! Reached school at 7.20, and collected our tins, briefed us on places we can't go to collect money and assigned classes to different locations . But apparently no one bothers about where to go and just go to different places.
Went to Hougang Mall with Joseph and Jintee first, then walked one round around Hougang Central and headed to Sengkang. But there was seriously a lot of other school students and we don't have a lot of business.
Then had a break over at Kopitiam Square at Sengkang, and headed to Bedok next, as there will be a lot of people there, bus interchange, town centre with 2 hawker centres and markets. Yes, it is really crowed when we were there, but there's seriously a lot of other schools. Had another break and walked one round and decided to head back to Kovan.
Back at Kovan, there's also other school people, and they actually asked us for donations and I was like thinking, wtf, if i have money to donate i would rather put in my own tin than put in their tin right. What the hell sia.
Back in school, still one of the few people from my class to reach first, helped Mrs Tan with collection of tins and signing in. Woah, our class all the tins are like so light can! Then heaviest from our class is Yuqin one, but i think other classes tins are much heavier than ours ! Ginette one is already heavier than Yuqin one already lorh. She and Chelsea like head to Hougang interchange de traffic light there, so many people one eh ! Then they stayed for 1 hour and its like half filled and went to watch movie.
15 people from my class went to watch movie as well, sigh. And got told by Mrs Tan and Mr Lee as a result. What I think is that since we are given this opportunity to help all those people in need by raising funds for them, then we should try and collect as much as we can, and not just going to the movies. Its like so many people out there who are in really pitiful situations and need our help and we can actually do a part in helping and improving their lives. Of course, its not the number of money collected that matters, its the thought that counts.
After this experience, i finally understand the hard work of those people collecting money, and I will definitely donate more next time :)
