Firstly, one of the main highlights of today was that YYSSCO had received a certificate of distinction for SYF 2017!!!! IT'S SUPER EXCITING because we lost out on the distinction awards for the past 2 SYFs but finally after 6 years, we managed to get the top certification for our efforts. Back then in 2011 we had a Gold (before they changed the grading system) and then for 2013 and 2015 we managed to clinched a accomplishment certificate (which is equivalent to a silver). SUPER proud of the juniors for clinching a distinction because they really worked very very hard and improved a lot as compared to a month back. During my last visit in March they still had a lot to catch up on but on Monday during their SYF, I was really amazed and had goosebumps because their performance was really AMAZING. Hardwork truly never betrays. Well done YYSSCO :)
Secondly, I embarked on a new beginning in becoming a teacher for primary level. Not really a full-fledged teacher but a teacher at a student care centre where I would need to supervise the children homework, marking of papers and assessment books and help them with their studies. Seems like a rather easy job scope but it is quite tricky as you are expected to have knowledge in all four subjects to be able to help them with their studies. Finding this job was not easy (or rather finding a job I like/have interest in) as things cropped up here and there but got the job at last.
This week marks my second week of work actually and it has been pretty smooth for me. I am assigned to the upper primary boys class - which is known to be notorious as they tend to be the rowdiest, "perverted" and defiant ones. Still in the getting to know 'each one of them better' stage but hopefully by the end of my stint in the centre, they would take away something which will help them as they grow to be a better person as they grow and mature into young people.
Anyways, yesterday, we went back to school to collect our grad gowns + assignments and omg it feels all surreal because 15 more days and we would be standing on stage for our graduation ceremony - something which we worked hard for the past 3 years for. Super excited yet feeling surreal because it doesn't feels real yet. Going to be a super busy day for graduation but will probably dedicate another post for it when it comes :)
Till then x
