THANKFUL | #30DAYS .

[Day 21- A recent event which made you happy]

While thinking of what to write about for today's topic, I was scrolling my gallery and organising them then I saw a group of pictures which made me remember the attachment which ended 3 weeks ago!! It was an event which made me feel very thankful and satisfied about.

For a period of 2 months we were attached to the childcare centre, going there almost every day. It was a new experience but thankfully we all made it through thanks to the support of our mentor, the staff and the parents there. Something I was really thankful for was the support given to us for our practicum, especially the final one where we had to plan a parental workshop. It was the one which everyone feared as we are just practicum students and had no experience so it was quite an interesting experience as we started from scratch from the planning to preparations to inviting parents and executing the event.

Planning and preparing the workshop took a long time as we had a lot of ideas but to put them together to make it an reality was a challenge due to lack of time but the three of us worked well together and managed to get everything all done. Originally, we only had 2 parents who responded to invitations so we were quite worried and lowkey disappointed but then the following week, more parents signed up (despite it being only 2 days from the workshop), so the total number came to about 8 parents so we were really really thankful as we did not think we will get so many participants (their children joined as well!)

It was a nervous experience as it was the first time standing in front of  parents and giving them a presentation so it was rather stressful, but despite some minor hiccups here and there, we managed to get through the whole thing. Despite us being nervous speaking to parents, we also had fun in the activities and after the whole event, there was like a sense of satisfaction when you see the smiles on the participants and the feedback given to us. Even the children seemed to enjoy our workshop (my class was telling their friends about it the following day and also writing about our workshop for one of their project) and it made us feel that our effort is worth it.

Throughout the whole practicum, I gained a lot of experience and deeper understanding of working in this field. Even though I don't think I would continue working in this setting but the experience will be valuable and the time spent with the children is something which I will miss as well omg hopefully I would be able to attend their graduation??
