IU DLWLRMA TOUR IN SINGAPORE .

Last week, IU held her first ever concert in Singapore. It was her first official visit to this sunny island and it was exceptionally special because it was part of her 10th Anniversary Tour. She repeatedly apologized for coming to Singapore only now - 10 years into her long and successful career and she promised she will come more often - hopefully more eargasm sessions in the awe of the one and only Lee Ji Eun.

IU's concert is one of the best concerts I have attended, in terms of quality and atmosphere. It was a concert, but it felt intimate like a fanmeeting. She was really sweet and spoke in English for a huge part of the show and the performances were all of high quality with amazing live bands and vocals - I was totally blown away by the whole musical-like setlist that night.

I like the transitions between the different segments for the show, with the VCRs all linking to the main actual performances. It adds a little fun touch to it and making the whole show a complete experience. As per what IU said, the dlwlrma tour was made to showcase her career for the past ten years in a form of a "movie", which to me, felt like a musical of her growth as an artist who inspires many other.

I was constantly in awe and had goosebumps throughout the concert and there were many moments like that, such as when she sang the 3 tone high note in "Good Day" which made my expectations for the concert rise even higher. From the fun dance songs like 'Twenty Three' to 'Bbi Bbi' to the cute young IU songs like 'Marshmallow' and 'Boo' and the slow chill songs like 'Lost Child' and 'Through The Night', IU has successfully shown her growth as an artist, being able to digest all genres of music well.  God-IU never fails to deliever and I was constantly impressed by all the performances up to the encore and even the re-encore.

IU is known for extending her concerts and making them really long with the re-encore (her Seoul concert lasted up to 5 hours) and she was really nice and allowed the fans to record her during the re-encore as it was not part of  the official concert setlist. She even dedicated a song for the late Jonghyun 'Gloomy Clock', which the duo worked on, saying it wasn't part of the setlist but she hopes the song reaches person whom she really misses as his death anniversary was around the corner.

My favourite part of the concert was when she sang 'Dear Name', which is one of my favourite songs from her. I was touched the first time I saw her perform it on TV on Melon Music Awards last year and I thought I really must watch her perform it live at least once in my lifetime. 'Dear Name' was a song of consolation and speaks about the longing of one's loved ones and the pain and desire of meeting them again. It speaks a strong message of not forgetting and remembering everyone. I too, was touched during that particular performance.

I might not have been a big IU fan, but I'm sure glad I attended this concert and get healed and inspired by her songs and talents. As expected, it's IU. "I'll never forget 습니다"

아이유 참좋다 💚
