IU LOVE, POEM TOUR IN SINGAPORE 2019 .

Okay I know this is like a month late but I'm going to make use of this period of time (when I'm still free before school starts) to backtrack all the posts I have yet to post out (I have like my 2019 oversea trips still in my drafts asdfghjkl).

IU held her 2nd concert in Singapore, a year after her first concert. Because she likes The Star Theatre so much, she had her concert at the same venue again this time, and even sold out for 2 days! Ticketing for IU's concert was like a war, and I again, only managed to snatch tickets for the second floor, but it's the first row so I think it was still a pretty good seat as the first floor was really SUPER DIFFICULT. I believe her popularity soared even higher after the broadcast of Hotel Del Luna, a drama which I also recently fell in love with the storyline.

She opened the show with 'unlucky', a new track off her latest mini album 'Love poem' and I must say, I was very impressed with her concert last year and I had high expectations as well this year, and she never let me down and even exceeded my expectations. Throughout the concert ments, I love how she tries and interact with us, and it really felt like we were just "friends" and the occasional jokes here and there, which made the mood really light and enjoyable.

Despite it being her 2nd day of the Singapore leg of the concert tour, she put on her best performance and even prepared a 'Hotel Del Luna' OST medley for the first time for Singaenas!! It was really amazing to see her cover the songs (especially Taeyeon's OST) AND SHE EVEN SANG HAPPY ENDING!

I was too, as part of Singaenas and shouting to BBI BBI and Blueming fanchants, to which IU called Singapore the "hometown of BBI BBI" as we seemed to really enjoy such upbeat tracks alot - I mean who doesn't love to groove to happy songs with such vocals? Apart from the happier songs, I was also anticipating her ballads alot because I really love the lyrics and emotions she portray in her songs, especially looking forward to hearing her new songs from the 'Love poem' mini album.

Although there has been many unfortunate things which happened in the past few months, I'm glad that this concert has served as a platform for both IU and the fans to heal through music and I was indeed too, healed by her words and songs, as a beautiful end to the rather hectic 2019.

And then time for the much awaited re-encore, where she took on fan requests and we were lucky to be treated to 5 songs during the re-encore segment (Although I was shouting for Dear Name and Leon) but still really thankful for her to keep singing for us although she was already visibly tired but for Singaenas, ended off the close to 4 hour long concert on a high note.

Thank you IU, I can't wait to see you again next year.
즐거운시간 고마워 ~ 내년에 또 만나요 사랑해

“All promises are important, so you have to keep them. Day by day, if you keep living slowly, breathe slowly, it’ll soon be next year. And I’ll be back to make another promise. And we’ll be back and we’ll promise again and again and again. We need to keep living? Life will be easy. I’ll do it as well. I promise. And we will see each other again next year”
